  • What is the Balearics Eco-Tax?

    The Balearics Eco-Tax or Sustainable Tourism Tax, as it is also known as, is a government approved levy that applies to both foreign visitors and locals who stay in tourist accommodation in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. The tax was imposed on 1st July 2016 to keep the islands in ship shape condition, funding sustainable tourism projects to preserve them for future generations.

     

    Unfortunately it does mean there is a tiny bit extra to pay to holiday to these beautiful destinations, but it is all for a good cause. Enabling people to return to the Balearics and enjoy all that these wonderful islands have to offer.

     

    The cost of the Eco-Tax varies depending on what accommodation you are staying in. However, for those of you who’ve already booked or are looking to book your holiday, we calculate this for you and include it in the total cost of your holiday. You can now see the Eco-Tax breakdown when searching for your villa holiday. Keep an eye out for the (?) symbol and all will be revealed when you hover over it, or touch it if using a mobile or tablet.

    We’ve taken the hassle out of paying it when you get there, so you can enjoy your holiday right from the off.

  • What age qualifies as an infant?

    An infant must be under the age of 2 on the return journey to qualify for an infant fare.  Infants can travel on the lap of an adult on the aircraft for a nominal fee.  Unfortunately, infants do not receive a luggage allowance from the airline.

  • Can I pre-book my seats on the flight?

    Seats may be pre-booked with certain airlines for a nominal fee prior to departure; our Travel Experts will be able to check with your chosen airline if this service is available to you. Your party will be seated together using this service but please note that allocation of seats next to each other, across the aisle or directly behind one another is all deemed to constitute provision of pre-booked seats.

  • How do I purchase a gift voucher?

    We sell gift vouchers which can be redeemed towards the purchase of a James Villas holiday. Vouchers can be purchased by calling {insert telephone no} and are available in any denomination between £1 and £9999.

    Terms and Conditions

    • Gift vouchers can be redeemed as full or partial payment against any holiday booking with James Villa Holidays.  All vouchers must be used in full and no change or voucher credit can be issued.
    • Gift vouchers can be redeemed for a period of 2 years following the date of issue.
    • Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash, cannot be resold, cancelled or exchanged for refund. Gift vouchers can only be redeemed towards holidays where the voucher holder is travelling. Holiday deposits cannot be paid using gift vouchers. If the full cost of a holiday is due at the time of booking (if booked within 14 weeks of travel), the gift voucher amount will be deducted from the total holiday cost. 
    • If it becomes necessary to cancel a booking where a gift voucher has been used as full or partial payment, any refund due will be in the form of a gift voucher up to the original gift voucher value. Normal cancellation terms apply in accordance with James Villa Holidays booking conditions. Gift vouchers are sent via email as e-vouchers. Please therefore ensure that you have entered the correct email address and ensure the recipient checks his or her spam folder. James Villa Holidays accepts no responsibility to provide a replacement or refund should the gift voucher be lost or stolen. James Villa Holidays reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions.
    • The usual Booking Conditions will apply to all holiday bookings made with James Villa Holidays.

  • Are your villas pet-friendly?

    We are sorry, but we don’t operate a pet-friendly villa programme at this time. None of our villa properties allow pets to be accompanied as part of the holiday booking.

  • If I book a flight with you is baggage included in the price?

    When you book a package holiday with James Villas, all flights have a checked baggage allowance for all travelling passengers (except infants) included in the price shown. The weight you can carry in each bag will be shown when you select your preferred flights. Where we advise that luggage is "optional", you will have the opportunity to remove or add additional bags to your booking. If you decide to reduce the number of bags you are taking, the price will be reduced accordingly. If you choose to add additional baggage to the booking, then the price will increase.

  • Is there a minimum age for making a booking?

    You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking with us on our website, on the telephone or in person at our office. The person making the booking will become the lead passenger and must travel on the holiday.

  • How do I make a payment?

    You can use any of the following methods to pay for your holiday without additional charge: 

    Bank Transfer

    If you would like to transfer money to us directly our account details are:

    • Sort Code - 20-00-00

    Please use your holiday reference as the payment reference.

     

    If you wish to create a payment account with us, this can be done through our website or the App under “Manage my booking”.

     

    These are for GBP Payments only. Transfers to this account in currencies other than GBP will be translated to GBP by the bank potentially resulting in less than expected being received by us. If you would like to pay in another currency please contact us on 01622 655 940.

    Credit Cards/Debit Cards

    We do not charge for any of the following card types:

    • Visa Debit / Credit
    • MasterCard Debit / Credit

     

    James Villas Gift Vouchers

    Gift vouchers can be redeemed over the telephone or on line. If you would like to do this over the telephone please call {insert telephone no} and one of our Travel Experts will be pleased to assist you.

     

    The following payment methods unfortunately attract a 2% charge as we incur a charge from the provider of the service:

    Purchasing Cards

    Non UK registered debit cards (even if they are GBP denominated)

    Corporate Cards

     

    From time to time the banks can introduce new cards, particularly prepaid debit cards which use card numbers that previously appeared in credit card ranges. If you believe you are being incorrectly charged, please contact us on 01622 655 940 and we will be happy to look into the matter.

  • Why can’t I open the voucher attachment from my email?

    Voucher attachments cannot be opened on all mobile handheld devices. If you cannot view the voucher on your device we recommend you use a desktop device or laptop.
